Some days ago, during a dinner with close friends (parent’s/family’s), I was asked a question.

What would you choose to become if you had the ability, power and knowledge to do it?

No response

Triple dots.

I opened my mouth to respond, but stopped.

Then the typically answer rolled out.

I don’t know what I want to do at the moment… so I don’t really know.

The conversation never went back to that.

Then a day or two after, during school, a teacher asked:

What would you do with your future, if money isn’t an issue?

Varying replies throughout the class.

Finish school, get job, normal life.

Pursue _____ career.

Compose an army of midgets.

Study everything.

Buy up everything.

Rule the world.

Be remembered.

I didn’t reply. I was going to, but didn’t.

Just like last time

It did make me think.

Think about more than the test on Energetics, Vectors, Quantum Physics.

More than missing Formal, writing Extended Essay, applying to Universities.

To what I want to do.

Fine Arts.

My teacher told us, that many of us do not know what we want to do in the future.

I agree with him – mostly.

I do.

I just don’t plan on following it.

I’ll take another option.

If God can play dice with the world, I can play dice with my future.

Roll a double and get lucky.

Roll another double and get lucky.

Roll a third double and get unlucky.
