You sit me down and leave me to die
Sitting in pain, I started to cry
It only took a moment
To hand in my resignment
It was never an official post
But I did better than most

Now I have no job
“What am I now?” I say as I sob
White turns to gray, gray fades to black
I open my eyes, lying on my back
I turn my head – there is no one there
In the corner sat the white hare

My connection to the wonders past the door
I quickly check to see if they are there anymore
They are all there, as one could see
But they now meant nothing to me
Why would he do such a thing
When he knew I had a ring

Agitated inside, but calm on show,
I can’t let a single soul know.

A whole new meaning.
